What We Believe

A Higher Power is something that is more powerful and knowledgeable than any one individual.  And a community that follows Good Orderly Direction is infinitely more powerful than a single individual

The Bible is our Big Book that provides guidance for how to build a safe, loving and supportive community.

  • All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the children of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.  (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love (Jeremiah 31:3; 1 John 4:8; 1 Corinthians 13:1-4)
  • Good Orderly Direction (G.O.D.) teaches us how to love ourselves and each other unconditionally, while still setting boundaries and rejecting behaviors that are unhealthy for the individual or community.

Through the Good Orderly Direction (G.O.D) of scripture, God PERFECTS all PIECES of our life and teaches us how to love ourselves and each other like He loves us.

Love PERFECTS us by helping us learn to be

  • Prudent (wise and patient) in all that we do
  • Earnest in our thoughts and actions
  • Respectful of self and other
  • Forgiving of self and other
  • Enduring all trials
  • having Compassion for self and other
  • being Truthful with self and other
  • being Selfless in recognizing the contributions of God and others to our lives.

By following these principles, we can cultivate a path to personal and collective well-being. (Leviticus 19:9-17; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; Galatians 5:22-23)

Skills for Living and Loving: Good Orderly Direction, has transformative power. We acknowledge the Bible as a source of wisdom, strength, and guidance. We believe in its potential to provide tools and insights for healing from anxiety, depression, addiction, abandonment, religious trauma, and other life challenges. (Ephesians 4: 17-24; Matthew 5:3-10)

Inclusivity and Non-Judgment: Too often scripture has been used to judge, shame and exclude others. A loving God welcomes all because we were all created in His image. With compassion and understanding, he helps us address behaviors that do not follow Good Orderly Direction. So too do we open our doors to all individuals, who choose to follow Good Orderly Direction, irrespective of their background, beliefs, or struggles. (Matthew 8:5-13; Romans 4:17; 12:9;14:5-7)

Diversity:  We recognize that we are all parts of one body and every part has a role to play in building up a community of love, support and renewal.   We embrace diversity and create a nonjudgmental space where everyone is welcome to explore their faith, what Good Orderly Direction means to them, and find support in a safe and loving environment. (Romans 12: 3-6)

Compassion and Empathy: We emphasize the importance of compassion and empathy in our interactions. We strive to create a community where individuals can express their pain, doubts, and fears without fear of rejection, knowing they will be met with understanding and love. (Luke 6: 36-37)

Holistic Healing: We are all created in God’s image, that is, in the image of love.  Nurturing the mind, body and spirit PERFECTS the individual, and creates an individual that can help build a larger community, a body, that it builds itself up in love.(Colossians 3:10)

Building Trust and Attachment: We acknowledge that many mental and behavioral health issues stem from attachment trauma which may come from being abandoned by loved ones or rejected by a church that fails to know the true and loving God. We are dedicated to nurturing secure attachments and healthy relationships within our community through consistency, attention, responsiveness, empathy, and safety (C.A.R.E.S). (Proverbs 10:12)

Mindfulness and Self-Development: We encourage mindfulness practices and regular reflection on scripture to help individuals develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience. We believe that personal growth is a key component of healing. (Joshua 1:8)

The Power of Community: We believe in the strength of community support which we call the Kingdom of God and the collective journey toward healing. Together, we can overcome challenges and find hope, purpose, and connection. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Continual Learning and Growth: We embrace a commitment to ongoing learning and growth, both individually and as a community. Through scripture, we seek to deepen our understanding of faith, mental health, and the human experience. (Psalm 143:10)
